Career

Professor Ninidze ascended to the position of associate professor at Tbilisi State University in 1986. Since 2005, he has held the esteemed title of full professor at the Faculty of Law within the same university.

Throughout his distinguished career, Professor Ninidze has held several pivotal roles, serving as Deputy Minister of Justice, General Prosecutor, Minister of Justice, Member of the Parliament of Georgia, and Member of the High Council of Justice of Georgia.

Tedo Ninidze’s contribution to reforming and shaping modern Georgian law is unparalleled. With an academic career spanning one of the longest and most remarkable tenures in the Georgian scientific community, he played a crucial role as a member of commissions dedicated to drafting the Constitution of Georgia, the Civil Code of Georgia, and the Law of Georgia on Entrepreneurs.

Among his extensive publications are the first commentaries on the Civil Code of Georgia and the Georgian Law on Entrepreneurs, which have served as definitive resources for generations of Georgian lawyers over decades.

Education

Tevodore (Tedo) Ninidze acquired his legal education from Tbilisi State University, culminating in his completion of the first level of education in 1971. Subsequently, in 1975, he achieved the degree of Candidate of Legal Sciences from the Institute of Law at the Academy of Sciences of the USSR in Moscow.
