Invest in leadership & HR for sophisticated client needs

1) What do you see as the main points that differentiate Deris from your competitors?

Capacity to manage complex, very detailed, technical cases thanks to the largest team and law firm exclusively focused on IP.

As a matter of fact, thanks to IP focus, our team has extensive experience on IP rights with more than 2500 disputes per year.

2) Which practices do you see growing in the next 12 months? What are the drivers behind that?

Luxury due to its high turnover and increasing demand;

Life science and pharma due to high competition and existing in Turkey due to generics.

Video games due to the Turkish start-ups that have risen from the gaming sector to the international market.

3) What’s the main change you’ve made in the firm that will benefit clients?

A human resources system in which all lawyers are systematically trained and assisted practically on management, business acumen and leadership perspectives on specific cases.

The perspective gained by this framework is a natural reflection on handling the client’s matters with the in-depth understanding of their business.

4) Is technology changing the way you interact with your clients, and the services you can provide them?

Deriş, who has his own in-house IT company since 1980.

With its 5th generation of propriety IP management system Deris’ mains focus is attorney’s productivity and efficiency with very limited paralegal support. This technology aims to bring quality and speed in the services provided.

5) Can you give us a practical example of how you have helped a client to add value to their business?

More than 200 raid operations were carried out on behalf of one of our clients in 2023, one of the leading companies in the field of telecommunications, with the aim to prevent counterfeit products in the Turkish market.

According to our client’s own statement, his turnover in the Turkish market increased dramatically and those selling smuggled products became our client’s authorized dealers.

6) Are clients looking for stability and strategic direction from their law firms – where do you see the firm in three years’ time?

In the field of intellectual property, the client’s need for both stability and strategic direction is high.

Founded in 1912 and with a history of over a century, Deriş meets the stability expected by its clients and satisfy their expectations in building strategy with its experience on a local and global scale.
