Eduardo Soto has over 25 years of experience in the corporate labour area, advising both Brazilian and international companies of different sizes and sectors, on all fronts related to Labour and Employment Law. His previous experience includes heading the Labour practice in some of the largest Brazilian law firms (Tauil & Chequer Advogados in Association with Mayer Brown LLP).

He provides assistance with labour and employment issues that arise from M&As, business transfers, and international secondments. Mr. Soto is an authority on handling issues related to executive management, including the creation and adaptation of global compensation plans to local laws with a focus on benefits such as performance bonuses, profit sharing, stock options and stock awards plans. He also has a solid performance record in handling labour negotiation, both for the prevention of, and solutions to litigation, involving employees, unions and executives.

In recent years, Mr. Soto has been included among the leading Labour lawyers in Brazil by international and national publications and rankings such as Chambers & Partners, Who’s Who Legal, Leaders League, The Legal 500, Best Lawyers, Latin Lawyer, LACCA (Approved Practitioner), Expert Guides (Euromoney), and Análise Advocacia. Chambers & Partners Global has also included him among Spain Foreign Experts (based abroad), and, in 2019, he was named the "most voted nominee by his peers", according to Leaders League research.

Mr. Soto holds an LL.B from Universidade Mackenzie, a Specialization in Corporate and Management Labour Law (FGV-SP), and an LL.M in Corporate Law from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.

Mr. Soto is the author of the book “Demissões Coletivas. Lições para sua regulamentação futura pelo sistema jurídico brasileiro.”, published by Editora LTR in 2012, and co-author of "Reforma Trabalhista", published by Editora LTR in 2019.

He is qualified to practice in Brazil, Portugal and Spain.

 In 2018, 2019 and 2020, he was an invited Speaker at International Human Resources Meeting, in Madrid, Spain. Due to his considerable knowledge of the Spanish legal system and his solid and extensive relationships in the Spanish and Latin American markets, Mr. Soto has attracted significant clients from these regions.
