Career

Benja joined Baker McKenzie in 2001 and became a partner in 2010. She is active in the Banking & Finance, Debt Capital Markets and Derivatives Practice Groups and currently leads our Financial Services Regulatory (FSR) and Structured Finance and Derivatives practices. Benja's practice includes extensive representation of international and domestic corporate and financial clients on a broad range of banking and finance and securities law related issues with a focus on regulatory matters. She was elected to the ISDA Future Leaders in Derivatives Program (IFLD) and also acts as local counsel to ISDA and as local ISDA counsel to Thai clients. She has unparalleled expertise in the areas of derivatives, structured finance, debt capital markets, private wealth and fund management, and bankruptcy. - She has been a key player in shaping Thailand's financial regulatory framework and is recognized in the market for her work on several game-changing projects, including digital transformation. One of her key landmark projects is advising on the Digital Infrastructure for Capital Market Project (DIF Project) to develop the first central digital infrastructure for the Thai capital market involving the creation of a distributed ledger technology (DLT) powered central digital infrastructure for capital market services which will revolutionize Thailand's capital market. Other first-of-its-kind transactions include the first private equity fund, first structured note program, and the establishment of SCB Julius Baer, the first private banking industry joint venture in Asia.
