Paul Wordley

Career

I am one of the founding partners of Wordley Partnership, having been a partner in a major international law firm where I was a member of the Management and Strategy Boards respectively.

My practice and expertise is geared towards advisory, complex claims, dispute resolution and coverage issues in the international insurance and reinsurance markets, acting for policyholders, insurers, brokers, intermediaries and reinsurers.  I also act for clients in significant commercial disputes around the world.

My  particular areas of expertise are in the oil, gas, mining, marine, construction and TMT sectors. I have been involved in a number of high-profile international insurance and reinsurance claims in recent years and have also advised on a number of recent major oil, gas and mining claims.

I  have significant mediation experience having represented clients in several successful multi-million-dollar mediations.

I has advised on or conducted numerous arbitrations pursuant to ICC, LCIA, UNCITRAL, ICSID, SCC, LMAA and ad hoc arbitration regimes worldwide.

To my surprise I  am  recommended by expert legal directories as ‘exceptional’ and apparently I am  a thought leader in the natural resources insurance  and reinsurance world.

I was a member of the Law Society Indemnity Task Force which oversaw the ending of the Solicitors Indemnity Fund monopoly and the introduction of the primary commercial insurance regime to the provision of solicitors’ PI. I am a founder member and director of the Mining Insurance Risk Association.
