Career

Rita is a senior associate in the Technology, Media and Telecommunications practice. She provides regulatory, transactional and litigation advice in the field of digital law, with a particular focus on data protection and cybersecurity, digital platforms and services, media and advertising, consumer protection, smart mobility, artificial intelligence, automation and other emerging technologies.

Rita has particular experience advising on regulatory proceedings before sectoral authorities, as well as in complex technology-related litigation, including class actions and injunctions. She is also involved in conducting audits, advising on M&A due diligence, implementing compliance programmes, providing ongoing legal support to companies, and drafting legal opinions on digital matters.

Rita has advised clients across a wide range of sectors and industries, including digital platforms, audiovisual and entertainment, AdTech, cloud computing, data centres, software development and mobility. She also has experience of working on secondment at one of the world’s largest multinationals in the human resources sector.

Rita holds a master’s degree in Administrative Law, with a minor in Data Protection, from Católica-Lisbon School of Law – Universidade Católica Portuguesa. She has authored and co-authored specialist publications, and regularly speaks at events in Portugal and internationally, postgraduate programmes and conferences on topics at the intersection of law and technology.
