Energy Regulatory

Position

Mr. Elrod advises domestic and international energy companies on complex regulatory matters and related commercial issues. He represents owners of energy assets across the oil, natural gas and power sectors. His clients have included a diverse mix of oil and gas producers, pipelines, storage and local distribution companies, electric utilities and other participants in wholesale power markets, and large industrial consumers of electric power and natural gas.

Mr. Elrod brings a sophisticated approach to regulatory matters based on his experience as a trial attorney at the Federal Power Commission (FERC’s predecessor), where he worked on gas pipeline and electric utility matters. In his private practice, he has represented clients in proceedings at FERC, in state courts, and before state regulatory commissions, Canada’s National Energy Board (now Canada Energy Regulator), and arbitral panels. He has also briefed and argued cases in federal and state appellate courts.
