As a result of the reform to the Article 148 of the Costa Rican Labor Code made in December 2019 by the Legislative Assembly, starting in 2020 the holiday of October 12 (Day of the Cultures) will not be celebrated and therefore will no longer be a non-binding holiday. Instead, it was declared a holiday to commemorate the Day of the Abolition of the Army on December 1 of each year. This holiday is a non-binding one.
