Please kindly be advised that Taiwan does not have an official copyright registration authority, but only have a business organization to register copyright materials. However, the recognized legal effect of the copyright certificate can also be guaranteed and can enforce your copyright when encountering infringement.
Estimated Time Frame
Normally, it would take 3-4 months to receive the copyright certificates after filing.
Documents Required
To apply for a copyright registration in Taiwan, the following documents are required:
- Declaration of Duty of Work (in the attachment and need your company’s execution);
- Power of Attorney (in the attachment need your company’s execution);
- Voluntary Registration of Works Guarantee ;
- Statement of Work; and
- Articles of Incorporation;For document 1 & 2, we will need your execution. For document 3 to 5, we are urgently reviewing the materials from our colleague Ellie Xia, and will let you know if we need any further documents from you.

And there is only a slight possibility that the Copyright Registry would request to check the original document, we will inform you immediately once we receive such requirements. - Any that may require notarization or legalization?
Miffy: No notarization or legalization is required. - What is the term of protection for copyright works? I ask as I want to be sure if any works are no longer protectable.
Miffy: The copyright protection last for 50 years from first publish if the author of the copyright work is a legal entity while the copyright protection lasts for the life of the author plus an additional 50 years if the author of the copyright work is an individual.
