The International Institute of State Law Studies (IIEDE), a non-profit civil entity founded in 2003, currently chaired by jurist and professor Fábio Medina Osório, is organizing the Seminar on New Paradigms of Compliance in Brazil,to be held in Rio on June 6, at the auditorium of the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES), with support from BNDES, Banco do Brasil, the Federal Government, the Association of Members of the Courts of Accounts of Brazil (Atricon), the Law School of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, the Superior School Foundation of the Public Ministry, the Advocacy Defense Movement (MDA), and Medina Osório Lawyers firm.
The opening conference will be given by Patricia Miguel Gouveia, superintendent of the Integrity and Compliance Area of BNDES.
The speaker Patricia Miguel will discuss the main compliance requirements for companies contracting with BNDES under the current administration led by President Aloizio Mercadante, with the Compliance Directorate headed by former CGU minister, Luiz Navarro.
Fábio Medina Osório, former Minister of the Attorney General of the Union, lawyer and jurist, will address anti-corruption compliance in his conference, under the light of Law 12.846/2013, the Corporate Probity Law.
The director of Compliance at Petrobras, Mário Vinícius Claussen Spinelli, will address the more specific requirements related to compliance contracts at the state-owned company and its peculiarities.
In another conference, Marcelo Pontes Vianna, the Secretary of Private Integrity of the Comptroller-General of the Union, will discuss compliance from the perspective of the CGU’s requirements, its central characteristics, and its prerequisites.
In turn, lawyer Fábio Eduardo Galvão, former Manager of Inspection at CVM and former Superintendent of Sanctioning Processes at that agency, will address compliance from the angle of international certifications.
At the closing conference, Walter Baère Filho, legal director of BNDES, will discuss compliance from a broader perspective in Brazilian Law.
