AVELLUM acted as a legal
advisor to the seller regarding the sale of Karavan Hypermarket chain to Auchan
Group.
AVELLUM
provided the seller with legal support in preparation, negotiation and signing
of the transactional documents.
The
transaction was subject to obtaining a merger control clearance of the
Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine.
Auchan Group operates 11
hypermarkets in five cities – Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, Zaporizhzhia and Kryvyi Rih.
In addition, it is engaged in e-сommerce in Kyiv and the region. In Ukraine,
Auchan Group employs over 3,600 people.
Karavan Hypermarket chain
operates 9 stores with total area of over 58,000 sq.m., located in Kyiv,
Kharkiv, Dnipro, Chernivtsi and Zhytomyr. It employs approximately 3,300
employees.
The AVELLUM’s team involved
in this transaction was led by counsel Yuriy Nechayev, with support from
associates Yuriy Zaremba, Dmytro Tkachuk and Ilhar Hakhramanov, under the
general supervision of the managing partner Mykola Stetsenko.
