Azmi & Associates is pleased to announce the appointment of Mohd Farizal Farhan Abd Ghapar and Mohd Sallahudin Abdullah as its new partners with effect from 16 December 2020
Mohd Farizal graduated from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) (Hons) degree in 2007. After his return to Malaysia, he joined Azmi & Associates in 2009 as a legal executive. In 2010, Farizal joined Avocet Mining (M) OHQ Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Avocet Mining PLC involved in gold mining activities in South East Asia and West Africa.
Farizal had undertook his pupilage at Shook Lin & Bok in 2011 before rejoining Azmi & Associates in that same year as an Associate. He was called to the Malaysian Bar and admitted to the roll of Advocates and Solicitors on 23 December 2011.
During his employment with Azmi & Associates, Farizal has been seconded to our prominent clients such as Petroliam Nasional Berhad, Petronas Chemical Group Berhad and Hess Oil & Gas Sdn Bhd. He represented our clients as their in-house counsel and advised them on implementation of major construction projects mostly in the oil & gas sector.
Farizal will be part of the Firm’s Construction & Engineering Practice Group.
Mohd Sallahudin graduated from the International Islamic University Malaysia with a Bachelor of Law (1st Class) degree in January 2011.
He joined Azmi & Associates in January 2012 as a trainee solicitor. Sallahudin was called to the Malaysian Bar and admitted to the roll of Advocates and Solicitors on 21 January 2013.
Sallahudin is one of the privileged generations of young partners in the Firm that were home-grown from pupilage all the way up the career ladder to the partner’s level.
He was part of Projects Practice Group (“PPG”) for more than 8 years under the supervision of our Partner, Zuhaidi Mohd Shahari.
Sallahudin is one of the members of PPG that has become one of the top performing practice groups.
Sallahudin has frequently undertaken the role of PPG’s dependable front person that could readily inter-phase with clients and this promotion would open further avenues for the expansion of PPG as well as the Firm’s marketing horizon.
The Firm is committed to nurturing young talents, entrepreneurial leadership, and innovation to make sure that we deliver transformational services to our clients.
With the promotion, the partnership base of the Firm grew to 22, and with 63 lawyers and 13 trainee lawyers, the Firm progresses further in its capacity building to offer whole range of legal services to Malaysian and international clients.
