Carpmaels & Ransford is pleased to announce Selina Badiani, Harry Bush, Emily Chittock, Henry Evans and Rebecca Satchwell have been promoted to Senior Associate positions effective from 1st January 2025.

Harry Bush and Rebecca Satchwell both trained at the firm and are patent attorneys in the Chemistry team. Harry advises a variety of clients, focussing on small molecule pharmaceuticals. He works on all aspects of the lifespan of a patent, with experience focussing on drafting new applications, patent prosecution at the EPO and globally, and EPO oppositions.

Rebecca handles a variety of subject-matter ranging from NCEs and medical uses, formulations and polymorphs to consumer products and medical devices. She has experience across the patent lifespan, from prosecution through opposition, SPC applications and litigation (both in Europe and further afield), and has put this knowledge to good use in defence of patent portfolios for several blockbuster pharmaceuticals.

Emily Chittock and Henry Evans also trained at the firm and are patent attorneys in the Life Sciences team. Emily specialises in nucleic acid and protein therapeutics, and in platform and manufacturing technologies. She has particular experience in multi-party EPO opposition and appeal work and in coordinating prosecution of European and global patent portfolios.

Henry has a diverse portfolio of work spanning immune-oncology, advanced single-cell sequencing technology, and biologics. His practice focuses on EPO opposition/appeal work with large EPO prosecution and SPC portfolios. He has also recently been involved in two significant UPC cases handled by Carpmaels & Ransford.

Selina Badiani is a solicitor and a member of the Dispute Resolution team, primarily focussing on patent litigation cases involving both small molecule drugs and biologics in the life sciences sector. She joined the firm in August 2021, having qualified as a solicitor in 2019. Selina has experience of litigation in the High Court and Supreme Court of the UK, and has also worked on large coordination projects, involving litigation in multiple European jurisdictions.

Hugh Goodfellow, Managing Partner at Carpmaels & Ransford, said: “We’ve seen a great period of senior growth for the firm recently, which has further strengthened our impressive litigation capabilities and the services we provide to our healthcare focused clients. I’m looking forward to seeing our new Senior Associates thrive in their roles as they bring great value to their clients and respective sectors.”
