Niederer Kraft Frey advised CREAL SA on its Series B financing round led by Carl Zeiss Vision International GmbH, as well as on a license agreement with ZEISS.
CREAL SA is a Swiss-based startup which develops a unique light-field AR display that projects truly 3D images with genuine focal depth, enabling the digital content to blend seamlessly into the real world. The funding will accelerate CREAL’s expansion across new and existing markets and accelerate new products development.
The license with ZEISS aims at creating a digitised vision care platform that hopes to revolutionise the current vision diagnostic and treatment procedures. By leveraging CREAL’s light field display technology, ZEISS plans to bring to market devices that allow for the digital examination of eye conditions as well as virtual simulation of classic ophthalmic lenses, contact lenses, and the like. Ultimately, the partnership should help bring century-old vision test procedures into the 21st century, finally enabling fast, cost-effective and above all user-friendly diagnostic procedures.
The NKF team was led by Corporate/M&A and Technology partner Karim Piguet, working with partner Phidias Ferrari, senior associate Melania Sirbu, associate Tania Luminuku and junior associate Jonathan Fumeaux (all Corporate/M&A) and associate Boris Catzeflis (Corporate/M&A/Technology).
