Economic Laws & Practice (ELP) has strengthened its real estate practice with the recent hire of real estate law veteran Heena Chheda from Hariani & Co.
Heena who joins us with her team of three – Bharat Jain, Aviral Jain, and Yash Modi, brings to the table over two decades of extensive experience in matters of real estate and related litigation on a pan-India basis.
With an in-depth understanding of real estate laws, land laws, revenue code, rent law, stamp duty, registration, commercial laws, law of contract, and personal laws (such as testamentary, trust and succession), Heena has advised various clients including corporates, landowners, developers, housing societies/tenants’ association, banks/financial institutions, educational institutions, lenders, real estate fund and HNI’s.
Heena has also been involved in pre-litigation strategy, assisted, and handled civil and commercial litigations and has been actively involved in settlement of contentious litigations. Her expertise also extends to advising clients before the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) and RERA appellate tribunal.
The team handles matters relating to acquisition of land, due diligence, development of commercial and residential properties, sale and purchase of commercial and residential premises, leases, leave and license, joint ventures and joint developments, slum rehabilitation projects, redevelopment of housing societies, acquisitions of properties in special economic zones, acquisition of land belonging to CIDCO/MHADA/MIDC, drafting testamentary documents, family settlements and business transfer agreements.
