Åby Travsällskap has entered into a joint venture with Klövern for the construction of a trade fair centre and hotel adjacent to the Åby Racetrack in Mölndal. The project value is approximately SEK 500 million and approximately 30,000 sq. m. of lettable space is involved.

The project is to be implemented through a jointly owned company – in which Klövern holds a 70 % stake and Åby Travsällskap holds a 30 % stake – and includes the construction of a 15,000 sq. m. trade fair centre, an 8,000 sq. m. hotel, office space and other space totalling 7,000 sq. m., as well as the joining together of the entrance section with Åby Travsällskap’s existing spaces.

– Åby Racetrack is on the verge of a historic period of development which will result in a world-class multi-purpose arena, with a focus on harness racing, says ÅbyTravet’s CEO Nils Andreasson.

It is estimated that the first tenants will move into the trade fair centre in January 2019. The hotel is expected to be completed in the summer of 2019. Artexis Easyfairs will operate the trade fair centre, while HKC Hotellutveckling AB will operate the hotel.

Foyen has acted as adviser to Åby Travsällskap in the project. Oscar Wackling has been the responsible attorney at Foyen.
