To be Lawyer Of The Year is a very prestigious honor but in the case of the present one is an incredible shining female force of nature, for not only in a patriarchal society but also in a patriarchal profession. Nermine Tahoun like the proverbial cream has risen to the top, not at some grand old age but still in the full flush of youth.
Her dynamic non-stop approach has seen her set up her own very successful Firm, Tahoun, which has 3 distinct and successful divisions, Tahoun Law Office, Tahoun Consultancy and TSmart. The success of this has led to International recognition by her peers, notably the International Society of Primerus Law Firms, as well as her Firm being voted by assorted international magazines for awards such as Oil and Gas Firm for Egypt 3 out of the last 4 years and best General Law Firm.
Whilst doing all this and mentoring the young juniors and associates at her own Firm, Nermine has also very generously given back to the profession she loves, by running a free workshop to help young and up and coming lawyers achieve a better understanding of their profession.
Not only content with this in her stellar career so far she has also managed to help the Egyptian Government in the creation of a successful P.P.P. Law and Standard P.P.P. Contract as well as advising on Egypt’s Enterprise free zones. Also, she is a Board Member of several eminent NGO’s.
