Singh & Associates, successfully hosted second chapter of its annual event
i.e. QUEST: KNOWLEDGE EXCHANGE SERIES on December 20, 2019 at The Oberoi, Gurugram.
Quest 2.0 was organized in collaboration with Ernst & Young (Knowledge Partner) and Legal Era (Magazine Partner).
The theme of the event was ‘Arbitration: Legal Insights and Updates’.
The event was graced with the presence of Hon’ble Mr. J. Dipak Misra, Former Chief Justice of India, Justice Hima Kohli, Judge Delhi High Court, and retired judges from various High Courts including Mr. J. Sudhir Katriyar, Mr. J. Anil Kumar.
Quest 2.0 brought together hon’ble judges, leading experts from the legal fraternity, in-house counsels, and consultants etc. to share their insights, knowledge and views. The welcome address was delivered by Ms. Gunita Pahwa, Joint Managing Partner, Singh & Associates wherein she thanked the imminent guests and speakers for their presence apart from informing attendees about Quest.
Quest 2.0 also saw unveiling the book titled ‘Infrastructure Arbitration: A Perspective’ authored by Mr. Manoj K. Singh, Founding Partner, Singh & Associates. The book was unveiled by Hon’ble Mr. J. Dipak Misra, Former Chief Justice of India and Dr. Lalit Bhasin, President Society of Indian Law Firms and President, Bar Council of India.
Highlighting the recent developments in Arbitration, Mr. Neeraj Kumar, Group CEO & Whole-time Director, Jindal SAW Ltd, delivering the Keynote Address said, “Arbitration should be the first port-of-call for any commercial dispute resolution at a first stage”
Mr. Jawed Zia, Vice President, Established Pharmaceuticals, ABBOTT India, addressed the gathering saying, “Pharmaceutical Industries faces complex and high-value disputes in everyday dealings many of which are resolved through Arbitration process effectively”.”
Quest 2.0 included two panel discussions. The first Panel was moderated by Mr. Manoj K. Singh, Founding Partner, S&A, wherein Mr. Manish Lamba, Senior VP at DLF Cyber City Developers Ltd., Mr. Atulya Sharma, Director Legal Max Health Care, Mr. Sanjeev Gemawat, Executive Director and Group Company Secretary, Dalmia Bharat Group, and Ms. Neeti Sachdeva, Secretary-General and Registrar at Mumbai Centre For International Arbitration were panelists who shared their perspective on the ‘Recent Judicial and Legislative Developments in Arbitration’.
The second Panel discussion was on the topic ‘Role & Importance of Expert Witness in Arbitration’ and a highly qualified group of experts which includes Mr. Parvesh Kheterpal, GC (Head Legal & Company Secretary) Feedback Infra Group, Mr. Sameer Chugh, Group General Counsel, Bharti Group, Mr. Sameet Gambhir, Jt. Vice President (CS) at DCM Shriram Ltd., Delhi, Mr. Sudhir Narang, GM, Contract Management at Hitachi India, Mr. Manoj K. Singh, Founding Partner, Singh & Associates and Mr. Acroprono Mitra, EY, Partner Forensics had an enlightening deliberation on various aspects of dispute resolution and its execution.
Quest 2.0 was a great success, well attended by the experts from the legal industry and in-house counsel, provided the opportunity to the participants for networking. Singh & Associates continuing in this endeavour will be bringing forth the next Quest – Knowledge Exchange Series in 2020 with its focus on yet another industry and its legal need and demand.
