Under the leadership of Hamburg partners Carsten Bartholl, Dr. Tillmann Pfeifer and Dr. Janina Pochhammer, international law firm Taylor Wessing provided comprehensive legal advice to integrated photovoltaic specialist greentech on the realization and sale of the Agethorst solar park, the drafting and negotiation of a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) and the conclusion of further Power Purchase Agreements.

The Agethorst solar park in Schleswig-Holstein is greentech’s largest project to date, which the company has developed itself and is now implementing. Together with two other plants on the A23, greentech is implementing a portfolio of around 100 MWp of solar plants to generate sustainable green electricity. The Agethorst project alone will have an installed capacity of 70.6 MWp on an area of approx. 80 hectares, which will feed clean electricity into the Schleswig-Holstein Netz AG grid via a nearly 6 km long interconnection line. The energy will be able to supply more than 18,000 households and save approximately 30,000 tons of CO2 per year. Completion is scheduled for mid-2024. Goldbeck Solar is handling the planning, procurement and construction of the Agethorst solar park for greentech.

Taylor Wessing, led by Dr. Janina Pochhammer, initially advised greentech on the negotiation and execution of the EPC contract with Goldbeck Solar for the Agethorst solar park. Subsequently, the team led by Carsten Bartholl and Dr. Tillmann Pfeifer advised on both the conclusion of a PPA and the sale of the solar park to an institutional investor.

As part of the expansion of its cooperation to implement the energy transition, greentech concluded several long-term power purchase agreements with the integrated energy supplier LichtBlick. Here, Taylor Wessing, led by Carsten Bartholl, advised on several direct supply contracts that exclusively supply the green energy provider with solar power from greentech’s “Untersiemau” and “Großheirath” projects in Bavaria for more than five years.

With a team of around 200 employees, greentech is a leading expert in project development, plant planning, technical consulting, construction as well as operational management and asset management of photovoltaic power plants. The fully integrated PV company thus covers the entire value chain in the PV downstream. Greentech has more than 1 GW of capacity in operational and asset management and has been involved in the realization of more than 400 PV projects. In Germany alone, greentech has its own project pipeline of ground-mounted PV plants with a capacity of more than 3 GW.
