Patent Term Extension Regime in China

China promulgates amended Implementing Regulations of the Patent Law
On December 21, 2023, China’s State Council promulgated the long-awaited “Decision on Amending the Implementing Regulations of the Patent Law of the People’s Republic of China”.
Two regulations on the registration, administration and protection of Geographical Indication are to enter into effect on February 1, 2024.
On the same day, February 1, 2024, two regulations, both issued on December 29, 2023 by the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), will enter into effect, providing details on the registration, administration and protection of geographical indications (GIs).
