Event Report

Tuesday 13^th September 2022 saw the global business development manager David Freeman and Sara Maggi, researcher for the GC Powerlist series, travel to Montevideo to oversee the launch of the inaugural edition of The Legal 500 GC Powerlist Uruguay 2022.

Alongside key Legal 500 partners and highly ranked firm Guyer & Regules, we invited the very best in-house counsel in the country to enjoy a drinks and canapes reception. Most importantly, it has been a wonderful chance to get together after the pandemic and network with peers in the same industry.

This launch was very special, not only because it was the first edition of many to come, but also thanks to the presence of a deejay set that filled the room with positive energy. Speeches were held that night by the Partner Nicolas Piaggio, who spent a few words on the role that Guyer & Regules had in supporting the research of the first-ever edition of the GC Powerlist Uruguay 2022, and on the need for recognition for in-house counsel in the country, given their outstanding skillset. Even Sara Maggi, lead researcher for The Legal 500 GC Powerlist Uruguay pitched in with a speech in Spanish (but we will leave it up to the audience to decide how good that was).

The event was an enormous success, we loved very much being in Uruguay and we look forward to next year!
