Speakers

Noel Campbell, Global Head of Disputes, HFW

Noel specialises in commercial litigation with an emphasis on financial litigation, fraud and asset recovery, insolvency, company law matters and trusts. He has much experience of handling matters in offshore jurisdictions and of multi-jurisdictional disputes generally. He is a practising CEDR-Solve mediator and on the Court of Appeal panel. Noel is recommended for dispute resolution by both Chambers and Legal 500.


Terence Wong, Partner, Hong Kong and Shanghai, Winston & Strawn

Recently named a Best Lawyer in China for his work in Arbitration and Mediation, Terence focuses his practice on international arbitration, with more than 20 years of experience handling high-stake, multi-front disputes in Asia including a decade practicing in China. His experience spans a wide range of sectors including infrastructure, power and utilities, energy, healthcare, real estate, retail and technology. Terence is highly regarded by clients for providing “valuable legal diagnosis”.


Tim Meng, Managing Partner, GoldenGate Lawyers

Tim Meng is the Managing Partner and head of GoldenGate Lawyers’ Legal Department. He is recognized as one of the best commercial litigators in China. He specializes in representing foreign interests in Chinese courts at all levels and before the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (“CIETAC”).

Mr. Meng has represented clients in a number of landmark trials in China and international arbitrations in Europe. He is experienced in dealing with cases combining high monetary value and complex subject matters. Mr. Meng earned his LLB from Beijing University Law School in 1990, and his LLM from the American University in 1996. He was admitted to the Chinese National Bar in 1994 and to the New York Bar in 1998.

Mr. Meng has been heavily involved in complex commercial litigation/arbitration and IP-related matters. He has represented over 50 files before CIETAC, ICC, DIS, HKIAC and SIAC, and litigated in over 50 courts in different cities at all levels all over the country.


Kenix Yuen, Partner, Gall

Since joining Gall, Kenix specialises in cross border commercial litigation and international arbitrations (in particular, involving element(s) of the People’s Republic of China (“PRC”)) covering contractual disputes, shareholders’ disputes, directors’ duties, fraud and asset tracing, misrepresentation and mis-selling claims. She also has experience in advising on regulatory investigations conducted by the Securities and Futures Commission and a regulatory inquiry from the Insurance Agents Registration Board.


Chris Wong, Executive Partner, Gall

Chris is the firm’s practice leader of China related disputes under Hong Kong law.

Chris specialises in a broad range of corporate and commercial dispute work, with particular emphasis on complex multi-jurisdictional disputes, fraud and asset recovery, contentious insolvency and bankruptcy, receiverships, shareholders and joint venture disputes, gaming disputes, mis-selling of financial products, cybercrime, audit negligence claims, SFC and ICAC investigations, employment disputes, and judicial review. He has substantial experience in injunction applications, and discovery (including Norwich Pharmacal) applications, in aid of domestic/foreign arbitrations and Court proceedings. He acts for and against numerous mainland Chinese and foreign companies/individuals in their disputes.


Peter Tweedley, senior research analyst – in-house legal research team, The Legal 500

Before joining the Legal 500, Peter Tweedley graduated from the University of St Andrews with a joint honours masters in international relations and modern history before going on to do the GDL and LLM in Public International Law at City University of London. On the LLM Peter specialised in the land rights of indigenous peoples, comparative constitutional law and international economic law. He has previously worked as a Russian political analyst, journalist, and writer. Peter is the Senior Research Analyst at the Legal 500 and works closely with general counsel, law firms and market experts to develop though-leadership publications, events and online content.
