Best Environmental/Sustainability Strategy  

This will be awarded to the best initiative focused on improving sustainability within a law firm, in-house legal team or Chambers. Submissions are open to UK firms, international firms in the UK, corporates and the Bar. Key factors taken into account will include a clearly defined strategy and demonstrable results.  

Best Law Firm Advisory Team: Sustainable Finance 

This category recognises the best law firm advisory team working in the sustainable finance space. Judges will be looking for evidence of involvement in the most innovative or complex sustainable finance deals.     

Best Law Firm Advisory Team: Environmental Protection 

This category recognises the best law firm advisory team working on environmental protection matters. Judges will be looking for evidence of involvement in the most innovative or complex environmental protection work, and will be considering work across the whole spectrum of practice areas, including environmental litigation. 

Best Law Firm Advisory Team: Clean Energy 

This category recognises the best law firm advisory team working in the clean energy space. Judges will be looking for evidence of involvement in the most innovative or complex clean energy work, and will consider work across the whole spectrum of practice areas.      

Environmental/Sustainability: In-house Champion (individual) 

This category acknowledges truly exceptional individual contributions by in-house lawyers to improving sustainability in corporates over the last year. Submissions are welcomed from in-house legal teams or law firms/The Bar on their behalf. Judges will be looking for evidence of involvement in key company-wide initiatives or broader efforts within the profession.   

Environmental/Sustainability: Bar Champion (individual) 

This category acknowledges truly exceptional individual contributions to improving sustainability in Chambers over the last year. Judges will be looking for evidence of involvement in key Chamber-wide or Bar-wide initiatives or broader efforts within the profession. Please note this award could go to someone junior driving the effort – not just someone senior.     

Environmental/Sustainability: Private practice champion (internal)

This category acknowledges truly exceptional individual contributions to improving sustainability in private practice over the last year, with a focus on internal initiatives at law firms. Submissions are welcomed from UK firms and international firms operating in the UK but contenders do not have to be lawyers. Judges will primarily be looking for evidence of involvement in key firm-wide initiatives.

Environmental/Sustainability: Private practice champion (client-side)

This category will recognise the individuals carrying out some of the most impressive work for clients in relation to sustainability over the last year. Submissions are welcomed from UK firms and international firms operating in the UK but contenders do not have to be lawyers. Judges will be looking for evidence of impressive clients, influential work and high-profile mandates.
