The buoyancy of the Mexican peso over the last two years, in conjunction with the flow of activity associated with “near-shoring”, has allowed Mexican firms to ride out the last years of the López Obrador administration. Both businesses and the legal market are now looking to the post-AMLO scenario and an expected up-tick in a range of sectors – most notably, power generation, but also projects and infrastructure more generally. Transactional activity too, is also likely to increase. In this transitional context, The Legal 500 is delighted to once again recognize the leading legal players from private practice and in-house who have contributed to the Mexican and global markets.
These awards are determined based on The Legal 500’s market-leading independent research for the annual directory. Winners are selected by a judging team spearheaded by The Legal 500 Latin America editor Tim Girven, head of in-house research Joe Boswell and The Legal 500 Publishing Director David Burgess, along with over 20 in-house and freelance researchers who have in-depth knowledge of their practice areas; it is the same team that is responsible for the annual production of our authoritative The Legal 500 guide, using the same evidence base. Some practice areas have stand-alone awards and others are thematic groupings of directory practice areas.
