Event Report
For the first time, the GC Powerlist has landed in Bolivia and it was very well-received by the audience. Cynthia Valencia Canedo, Manager of corporate affairs at Alicorp, stressed how she was really proud to be part of The Legal 500 GC Powerlist: Bolivia 2022, which highlights the best General counsel and in-house lawyers in the country. ‘It is a very important award in the global legal field to be recognised by this prestigious magazine and because its selection is the product of a comprehensive research process, which this time includes for the first time Bolivia and its legal heads’.
Jorge Badani, Legal director of Huawei expressed how today, companies have substantially revalued the work of their legal departments in boosting the business. ‘From our work as General counsel, we recognise that the key to the success of good legal management and correct corporate administration of a company is how to respond to challenges. Establishing effective legal methods, to deal with any change or business situation. Being part of the selected group of lawyers of Legal 500 GC Powerlist was the product of an exhaustive search and evaluation process of leading lawyers at the national level, who with their important work, contribute invaluably to the development of companies in Bolivia and the growth of our economy and society’. The room was brimming with excitement. Common topics of conversation were about the importance of recognising the GCs in Bolivia, their vital work in knowing how to give efficient and effective responses for the benefit of their companies and how important it is to have a close relationship between in-house and external lawyers.
