Event Report

On 30th August, The Legal 500 travelled to the beautiful city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra to celebrate Bolivia’s most distinguished and talented general counsel. The prestigious event, held in the sophisticated Manzana 40 venue, was hosted by key partner PPO Abogados.

The evening commenced with a warm welcome from Giselle Cuellar, Director of Marketing and Communication at PPO Abogados, setting the right tone for the gathering.

Sara Maggi, Deputy Editor for The Legal 500 GC Powerlist Series, took the stage. She expressed the team’s immense pride in witnessing the growth of the GC Powerlist Bolivia over the past three years. Sara also emphasised their eagerness to continue fostering strong connections within the Bolivian legal community.

Sara then welcomed Rodrigo Rojo Jimenez, Director of Corporate Affairs, Ethics, and Compliance at Telecel to the stage. Rodrigo provided valuable insights into current trends in the internal legal market and the challenges facing general counsel in Bolivia. He highlighted the critical importance of unity within the community to navigate crises and instability effectively.

Next, Lindsay Sykes, Partner at PPO Abogados, addressed the audience. She congratulated the powerlisters and reaffirmed PPO Abogados’ deep commitment and pride in supporting the GC Powerlist over the years. Lindsay shared an inspiring message, encouraging excellence to become the standard.

The evening concluded with a vibrant networking session, where attendees enjoyed drinks, canapés, and the opportunity to forge new connections.
