Event Report
On the 22nd November we were joined once again by the very brightest senior in-house counsel from across Central and Eastern Europe, this time with members of their legal teams, to celebrate the growing work and impact they are having in their respective companies throughout the region.
Hosted in collaboration with our sponsors Kochański Zięba & Partners, Maravela & Asociaţii and HRK Legal, at the newly renovated Raffles Europejski Hotel in Warsaw, the GC Powerlist offered a perfect opportunity for attendees to meet with their peers from Albania, Austria, Belarus, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Ukraine.
The final selection of the best in-house legal teams followed a three-month-long research process by The Legal 500’s dedicated Client Intelligence Unit research team. The research collated hundreds of nominations from law firm partners and fellow in-house practitioners from the Central & Eastern Europe region. The field was then narrowed down through a series of interviews followed by quantitative and qualitative research to the 100 teams identified, who were then invited to attend our prestigious GC Teams Powerlist.
You can find the full list of those included here.
A welcoming address from Alex Speirs of The Legal 500 led the speeches of the evening, followed by a quick note from Managing Partner Piotr Kochanski and finished off by a key note speech from Marek Szydłowski, Director of TVN Group Legal Division, who gave an accurate and amusing portrayal of how the in-house function has changed throughout the region somewhat over the past years.
The Legal 500, along with our sponsors, would like to thank all of those who attended the event and, in particular, those who travelled long distances to celebrate with us.
