Over 160 senior in-house counsel gathered together on the evening of 18 October to celebrate the launch of GC Powerlist Hong Kong: Teams 2018 at The Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Hong Kong.

Hosted by The Legal 500 and sponsors Jones Day, FTI Consulting, Blackstone Chambers, Pure and Cognatio, GC Powerlist offered the perfect opportunity to showcase the best legal talent in the region.

The final selection of the best in-house legal teams followed a three-month-long research process by The Legal 500’s dedicated Client Intelligence Unit research team. It collated hundreds of nominations from law firm partners and fellow in-house practitioners from Hong Kong and Greater China, before narrowing down the field to the 100 teams identified, through a series of interviews followed by quantitative and qualitative research.

After short introductions from The Legal 500 and Jones Day, the guests listened to a key note speech from Jiaxing ZHOU, (Managing Director & Head of Legal, Department of Legal and Compliance China International Capital Corporation [Hong Kong] Limited). Mr ZHOU gave his thoughts on trust and integrity, with a focus on both the opportunities in-house have to lead in this area and the challenges they face in doing so in the region.
