On June 7, The Legal 500 launched the GC Powerlist: Iberia (Portugal), showcasing the country’s leading general counsel, alongside their counterparts in Spain. In partnership with our headline sponsors, Portuguese firm PLMJ Network, and Andersen Tax & Legal and Iterlegis from Spain, the reception was held at Eleven Restaurant in Lisbon.

The launch event featured a glittering assembly some of the most renowned and influential legal minds working in the region’s business sector today, discovered during a rigorous research process conducted by The Legal 500’s Client Intelligence Team. After sifting through nominations from law firm partners and in-house specialists from across the globe, team members whittled the list down, using detailed interviews, to the 100 most prominent legal leaders. Honourees are based at a range of regional powerhouse companies, including Galp Energia, Jerónimo Martins, ANA Aeropuertos de Portugal and Ascendi Portugal.

The evening began with an introduction from The Legal 500: Latin America editor Tim Girven, celebrating the accomplishments of the honourees and discussing the strength and cross-border reach of the country’s top law firms.
