After the huge success of our GC Summit event earlier this year, The Legal 500 was delighted to return to Bucharest to launch the inaugural edition of GC Powerlist Romania.

Romania is the latest addition to the GC Powerlist series which now extends to over 40 editions published annually, recognising the best in-house legal talent in 146 countries around the world.

GC Powerlist Romania singles out 106 individuals for their outstanding work in the region. Through a comprehensive research process, which includes nominations, background research and interviews, the most deserving in-house lawyers have been selected to appear on the list. Each individual has made a demonstrable impact on their team, company or industry through innovative approaches to their everyday work.

Thanks to the fantastic support and organisation of our sponsors, Tuca Zbârcea & Asociatii, we welcomed approximately 100 guests at the fabulous Restaurant Diplomat on the evening of Wednesday 15 November where the guests enjoyed the opportunity to mingle and network with each other.

During the evening we heard from The Legal 500’s Managing Director, David Goulthorpe, who provided the background to The Legal 500’s relationship with GCs and senior in-house counsel around the world and how the GC Powerlist has helped to cement those relationships further. We also heard from Florentin Tuca, Managing Partner at Tuca Zbârcea & Asociatii, who expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the GCs in attendance. After this, Alexandru Berea from Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR), one of those being awarded on the night, gave an in-house perspective on the value of being recognised on GC Powerlist Romania.

Drinks, food and celebrations followed the keynote speeches, with many new connections and relationships formed.
