Event Report
In the heart of Zurich’s sophisticated charm, The Legal 500 teamed up with Axion and Baker McKenzie to honour and commend Switzerland’s foremost in-house counsel at our annual GC Powerlist: Switzerland 2024 event.
Taking the stage, Sara Maggi, deputy editor for The Legal 500 GC Powerlist Series, warmly greeted attendees, offering key insights gathered from the research process. She highlighted the pivotal role of in-house lawyers in fortifying organisational resilience and shaping ESG and DE&I policies, setting the evening’s tone.
Following Sara’s remarks, Daniel Hayter, managing director and vice president Europe of Axiom, engaged the audience by unveiling insights from Axiom’s general counsel survey, delving into the five key challenges confronting general counsel.
Subsequently, Matthias Courvoisier, partner at Baker McKenzie, navigated the audience through the legal intricacies of AI implementation and shared tips for navigating digital transformation effectively.
The evening culminated in a vibrant networking session, fostering enriching dialogues and newfound connections, embodying the essence of honouring legal excellence and fostering solidarity.
Our heartfelt gratitude extends to all who contributed to our research, and to our sponsors, Axiom and Baker McKenzie, whose unwavering support made this event possible. As we bid adieu to Switzerland, we eagerly anticipate our return later this year.
