Event Report
On March 20 in Hong Kong, GC Magazine in partnership with Frasers Law Company hosted an exclusive roundtable for in-house counsel, considering M&A activity in developing nations, with the spotlight on Vietnam.
As Vietnam becomes an increasingly prominent player, both in Southeast Asia and on the global stage, international investment has grown significantly, with Hong Kong a particularly prominent player.
The discussion focused on both the challenges and opportunities apparent for international companies in Vietnam, with both pragmatic advice and high level structural advice offered by Frasers Law Company partners Mark Fraser and Justin Gisz.
Topics of conversation ranged from the general to the deeply detailed, covering domestic equalisations and IPOs, sales of state assets, changes to corporate governance in Vietnam, the impact of trade deals across the region, as well as a strong national push towards renewable energy.
In attendance were: ANZ Bank, Bank of China, Tencent, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Optimas Capital, Oriente, IFC, Credit Suisse, Anbang International, Ericsson, CITIC Capital Holdings, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, UBS Investment Bank, Standard Chartered.
Later in the year, The Legal 500 and GC Magazine will return to host further exclusive events for in-house counsel. Should you wish to learn more or register your interest in attending, please contact [email protected].
