Career

Mark Thompson is a partner in A&L Goodbody's Corporate and M&A practice in Belfast. Mark is widely experienced in company and commercial law, with particular sectoral experience in the areas of energy and natural resources, healthcare and media, intellectual property and technology matters. Mark’s corporate practice focuses on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, management buyouts, reorganisations and strategic advice. Mark also leads the commercial team and has extensive experience advising on commercial contracts and trading arrangements.

Experience Advising: Energia Group on its acquisition and growth strategy, most recently in respect of renewables projects. Kingsbridge Healthcare Group on its growth strategy, including the acquisition of Kingsbridge Private Hospital, St Joseph's Hospital, Sligo and the North West Independent Clinic. The Irish Football Association in respect of the redevelopment of the National Football Stadium. Investec in respect of the development of a biomass power station. Brookfield Renewable Ireland Limited on the acquisition of Tyrone Wind Ltd. The Irish Football Association on commercial arrangements with Adidas, Ladbrokes, JD Sports and other commercial partners. Brookfield Renewable Ireland Limited on the acquisition of Tyrone Wind Ltd. The Agri-food and Biosciences Institute on its commercial agreements. Cumulus Neuroscience Limited on corporate finance matters and intellectual property arrangements. Axial 3D on corporate finance matters and its commercial arrangements.
