Career

He joined SK&S in 1992. In the late 1980's, he participated as an expert of the Polish Government in the Uruguay Round of GATT negotiations. Following this, he was a research fellow at the Asser Institute in The Hague. From 1981 to 2014 he was employed at the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw, in the Chair of International Organizations, later transformed into the Chair of European Law, recently as an associate professor. Currently he lectures at the Post-Graduate Studies of European Law and the Post-Graduate Studies of International Law and Foreign Service, both at the University of Warsaw.

Memberships

- A member of the Warsaw Bar Association (Okręgowa Izba Radców Prawnych w Warszawie) (since 1994).- A member of the Advisory Committee for European Law at the Ministry of Justice (since 2004).- A member of the Polish group of the International Law Association and the Polish Association of European Law.

Position

Dr. Ostrihansky holds a position of Of Counsel. He specializes in mergers and acquisitions and financial transactions, including credit financing and debt-to-equity conversion transactions. He has participated in numerous sizable privatizations of Polish industry and acquisitions of privately held entities. He provides legal advice to international financial institutions and commercial banks. He participates in international arbitrations related to the protection of foreign investments and as counsel to the defendant states.

Education

He received his Master's degree (1981) and doctorate degree (1988) in law at Warsaw University Law School, where he still lectures on European and international commercial law. He also holds a diploma (with distinction) of the Institute of Social Studies in The Hague.
