Position
Senior Partner at Sołtysiński Kawecki & Szlęzak. He is the initiator and one of the co-founders of SK&S. Specializes in securities and capital markets law, as well as corporate law and commercial transactions.
Career
In early 1980s Dr. Kawecki was a member of task forces preparing the conceptual underpinnings for the first stage of economic reform in Poland. In 1982-1985, he worked on his post-doctoral dissertation at the University of Pennsylvania Law School as a Senior Fulbright Scholar. In 1985 he joined the Philadelphia law firm of Drinker Biddle & Reath, where he practiced until June 1991 in the areas of international transactions, corporate and securities law, the regulation of capital markets and broker regulations. He has served as an adviser to Poland's Legislative Council in connection with the adoption of the country's first Securities Law in 1991. On many occasions, Dr. Kawecki has advised the Polish Parliament, government and Securities Commission on the legal aspects of the securities market. From 1997 to 2000, he served as a member of the Supervisory Board of CeTO, the organization managing Poland's OTC securities market, and is presently a supervisory board member for several commercial companies. He has provided legal services in numerous privatization and restructuring transactions in many sectors of Polish industry and banking, supervised various mergers and acquisition projects, participated in greenfield projects, has drafted many transaction documents and authored many legal reports on civil and commercial law.

Education
Andrzej W. Kawecki received a Master’s degree at Poznań University Law School in 1975. Between 1976 and 1982, he was involved in commercial law at the Institute of the State and Law of the Polish Academy of Sciences, acquiring his doctorate in law in 1982. From 1982 to 1985, as a Fulbright Scholar, Dr Kawecki pursued studies at the University of Pennsylvania Law School. He was awarded the title of Master of Laws (LL. M.) at that University and passed the New York Bar Exam in 1985.
