Position

Partner. Dahlen has over 20 years’ experience of transactions and advising technology and knowledge companies, educational establishments and industrial actors. He advises national and international businesses in a number of industrial fields on matters relating the protection and commercialisation of intellectual property (IP) rights, such as patents, trademarks, designs and trade secrets.

He also assists major business enterprises and research institutes to facilitate and execute R&D projects, and has considerable experience with contract models, project execution and external framework conditions for projects fully or partly financed from public funds, typically through financing programmes managed by the Research Council of Norway, Innovation Norway and the EU’s various framework programmes.

Dahlen has previously worked as a lecturer at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU)’s Department of Industrial Economics and Technology Management (IØT), where he was closely associated with the NTNU School of Entrepreneurship.

Dahlen has a strong understanding of business and technology, and is always up-to-date on the latest trends, methods and developments in key areas of technology, including the development and internationalisation of medical equipment, materials technology, software and electronics. He works closely with technical resources and project managements, and devotes time getting to know each client to ensure his advice is tailored to their organisational culture, operational needs and expectations.

Dahlen is a sought-after public speaker and regularly lectures at many of the largest technology conferences in Norway.
