In the international context, Abreu has assisted:
- The Senior Creditors - Export Credit Agencies and Africa Development Bank/AfDB on the financing and development of the Area 1 LNG project in Mozambique. The project, currently led by Total, and previously led by Anadarko, is located in the Golfinho-Atum field, within Area 1 of the Rovuma Basin offshore of the Republic of Mozambique.
- Navigator and Portucel on all related matters to ensure the implementation of the project.Portucel Mozambique is a company incorporated by the Navigator Company (former Portuguese group Portucel Soporcel) engaged in the biggest integrated forestry project for the production of wood for paper pulp and energy in Mozambique.
- Africatel Holding BV (“Africatel”), a Dutch holding controlled by the Brazilian Oi, SA, on the sale of Africatel’s Portuguese subsidiary PT Ventures SGPS, SA (“PTV”). At the date of its sale (completion on the beginning of 2020), PTV held, among other, 25 % of the share capital of Unitel SA (“Unitel” - the largest Telecom and the largest private company in Angola), 40 % of the share capital of Multitel Serviços de Telecomunicações Lda. (Angola) - the price of the sale was USD 1 billion.
- AEnergia on the implementation of an Angolan 750MW combined-cycle plant project, namely in what concerns draft of its contractual structural agreements and negotiations towards its financing with the several stakeholders involved. Framework of the project within the PPP and procurement Angolan laws, as well as financial aspects of State guarantees to be granted was also provided for due to Abreu Advogados´ assistance.
- The major state owned Portuguese financial institution in the sale of its controlling stake in Banco Comercial Atlântico (BCA), Cape Verde's largest bank. Abreu is dealing with the organisation and implementation of the privatisation process in Portugal, considering that CGD is a public bank, all regulatory matters in Portugal and Cap Verde with Bank of Portugal and Bank of Cap Verde, organisation of the process of sale together with Banco Caixa BI, the CGD investment bank.
