Position

Mira Levánd Bergsland is a specialist in matters of insolvency and bankruptcy law.

Mira has been working with restructuring, insolvency, and bankruptcy law since 2012, as a lawyer for banks, financial institutions, private and listed companies, and as a bankruptcy trustee. She works with a wide range of issues within the mentioned fields, such as debt refinancing, reorganization of corporate structures, securing creditor interests, etc. She also regularly works with M&A transactions and other corporate legal issues, in connection with restructuring and insolvency assignments, but also generally.

Mira has extensive experience from complex and comprehensive restructurings of companies in the oil/shipping sector, and from administering some of Norway's largest bankruptcy estates. Since 2022, she has been appointed as a bankruptcy trustee by the Oslo District Court.

Mira has also assisted real estate companies and other businesses with property law issues and transactions, including due diligence reviews, preparation of bids and purchase contracts, ground lease rights, tenancy law, planning and building law, lease contracts, forced evictions, and sectioning.

Mira is the author of the law commentary on the Wage Guarantee Act (Act of 14 December 1973 No. 61 on state guarantee for wage claims in bankruptcy, etc.), as well as the notes to the same law on www.lovdata.no.
