Career

Katya is an Associate at the firm mainly practising in the areas of public procurement; competition and EU law; tourism, leisure and hospitality; and dispute resolution.

Katya was recruited as a trainee with the firm in 2015. After obtaining her Bachelor of Laws degree in 2014, Katya later completed the degree of Doctor of Laws at the University of Malta in 2017, successfully defending a thesis entitled ‘Hate Speech and the Freedom of Expression – is the legislation of the High Contracting Parties in line with ECHR principles?’. She was admitted to the bar in 2018, and in 2020 obtained a Masters degree (LL.M) in European and Comparative Law at the University of Malta, with a dissertation entitled ‘Green Public Procurement – Option or Obligation?’.
