Iván Esquivel advises clients on national and international arbitrations conducted under various regulations, including those of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), the Arbitration Center of Mexico (CAM), and the National Chamber of Commerce of Mexico City (CANACO).
He has developed his arbitration and litigation practice in diverse fields, particularly in the areas of public and private infrastructure, including electricity and hydrocarbons, airports, ports, roads, construction, the regulatory landscape, administrative contracting, and in transactional disputes. He advises on the recognition or annulment of arbitral awards by the Mexican judicial authorities.
He also advises national and foreign clients on the control of concentrations in diverse sectors including energy, logistics, retail chains, the food trade, and finance.
Before joining Cuatrecasas, he worked for law firms specializing in corporate law, foreign trade and economic competition.
He has been a guest lecturer on administrative law at Mexico City’s Escuela Libre de Derecho (ELD).
