Three awards for DORDA at the Women in Business Law Awards Europe 2020
At this year's Women in Business Law Awards Europe, DORDA came out on top in two categories. DORDA won in the category "Best National Law Firm in Europe for Women in Business Law" and was also awarded "Best Law Firm for Women in Austria". In addition, DORDA managing partner and head of the Life Sciences practice group Francine Brogyányi was awarded "Best in Life Sciences".
Vienna, 11 September 2020 - In the course of a virtual awards ceremony yesterday, the Legal Media Group announced the winners of this year's Women in Business Law Awards Europe. DORDA was nominated in a total of five categories: Gender Diversity, Mentorship Programme, Work-Life Balance, Women in Business Law - National Firm, and Jurisdiction Award Austria. In addition, managing partner Francine Brogyányi was nominated for the practice area award "Best in Life Sciences" and attorney at law Magdalena Nitsche for "Best in Insurance and Reinsurance".
DORDA was able to win two categories and now holds the awards for "Best Law Firm for Women in Austria" as well as "Best National Law Firm in Europe for Women in Business Law". In addition, Francine Brogyányi, partner at DORDA and co-head of DORDA's women empowerment programme women@DORDA, won the "Best in Life Sciences" award.
"The fact that as an Austrian law firm we received two awards is confirmation of our diverse approaches for female empowerment within the women@DORDA programme," says Francine Brogyányi. "And of course, I am also very happy about the personal recognition as the best female lawyer in Europe in the field of Life Sciences."
The large number of nominations for DORDA together with major international law firms also demonstrates that DORDA is on par with its European peers.
"Magdalena Nitsche's nomination shows that we are training female lawyers at a top European level – which of course makes us particularly happy and encourages us in our efforts to continue to promote female lawyers at DORDA", explains Marie-Luise Pugl, co-head of women@DORDA. "We are certain that this is just the beginning and that many more nominations in various practice areas will follow, as DORDA has a large number of dedicated and talented women."
Francine Brogyányi and Marie-Luise Pugl, the two women@DORDA heads, recently talked about feasible approaches to equal treatment and concrete measures to achieve equality at DORDA in the latest episode of DORDA's legal podcast Clarity Talk on Air.
