Career

Sophie Dumon Kappe advises companies on restructuring their international merchandise flows, both in respect of managing indirect taxes as well as logistical requirements. Her practice focuses on providing assistance with audits and disputes (including advising during the audit itself and on criminal law matters) related to customs duties (energy and environmental taxation and industrial alcohol, wine, spirits and tobacco sectors). She also advises on risk analyses and due diligence reviews.

Sophie provides frequent training to company heads and managers on managing customs risks, as well as on customs duties on energy products and alcohol and tobacco, among others.

She is referenced in the Décideurs Magazine rankings as having a “strong reputation” in customs law and energy and environmental tax law.

Sophy is a member of the executive board of the Colin de Sussy think tank.

She teaches a Master’s course in customs law and customs procedures as the Université d’Aix en Provence, Marseille.
