Position

Julien Gontier is a Counsel with Gide Loyrette Nouel A.A.R.PI., member of the Paris Bar, specialized in litigation/arbitration, public procurements and infrastructures projects. He worked for our Litigation Department in Paris and joined our Algiers office in June 2008 where he advices major foreign companies wishing to invest in Algeria.

In the framework of his experience in Algeria, he regularly assists companies on the occasion of the achievement of their infrastructures projects for the conclusion of EPC, O&M or supply contracts (negotiation, drafting of contractual documentation), the performance of these contracts (interpretation of contractual clauses, claims) and for the related litigations (arbitration and local courts).

He also assists foreign and Algerian companies for the conclusion and performance of public procurements and mainly, of works public procurements, regarding the preparation and submission of bids (analyze of call for tenders documentation, questions relating to the applicable regulations etc.) and the performance of the public procurement contracts (interpretation of contractual clauses, claims, litigations).

He participates more and more in arbitrations or expert procedures under the aegis of the International Chamber of Commerce in the context of disputes relating to infrastructure contracts involving entities Algerian public authorities and international companies.
