Position

Counsel Elizabeth Gautier joined Gide's Competition & International Trade practice group in 2009. She specialises in French and European competition law (cartels, abuse of dominant position and merger control) and represents French and foreign companies, in both a litigation and advisory capacity before the Competition Authority, the European Commission and appeal courts. She also regularly acts as counsel on major multi-filings and has developed an expertise in merger control in Africa.

Elizabeth acts also as counsel before French Courts in compensation actions brought by companies impacted by anticompetitive practices following convictions or commitment provisions handed down by competition authorities.

She is highly experienced in providing advice and assisting in litigation, on economic law issues as part of commercial relations between economic operators (structuring of distribution networks, writing and negotiation of commercial contracts, restrictive practices, unfair practices, etc.), as well as with their consumer customers (unfair terms, misleading trading practices).

Elizabeth has developed a specific knowledge of the agribusiness, consumer goods, banking and entertainment (online games and gambling, sport, e-sports) industries.

She is a member of the "Association des Avocats Pratiquant le Droit de la Concurrence" (APDC) - (French Association of Lawyers Practising Competition Law)
