Position

Fernanda Matoso acts mainly in the health sector, as a life sciences lawyer, namely advising several pharmaceutical companies and coordinating the firm’s team involved in the legal assistance of such companies in the pharmaceutical sector, in areas such as regulation (prices and reimbursement regulation, medicine legal framework, marketing authorization procedures, promotion activities, clinical trials), commercial policies, litigation and arbitration.
She has also been highly involved in litigation, namely related to commercial and financial contracts, distribution agreements, privatisations of companies of the public sector.
It is also worth mentioning her expertise in real estate, acting as coordinator of the expropriation project of Vasco da Gama bridge; the team that executed the expropriation projects of Metro Sul do Tejo (phase I) and of "Complexo Desportivo da Ribeira Brava" on Madeira Island and of the team involved in the 1st and 2nd phases of the project "Cidade Administrativa", involving the construction and relocation of several ministries and public services to a new area of Lisbon, which required the adoption of urban rehabilitation measures.
Fernanda Matoso has also been quite active in providing legal assistance on real estate contracts and arbitration proceedings concerning those real estate contracts.

Career

Qualified (1984). Partner (1988). Coordinates the life sciences practice area and the team of lawyers also engaged in this practice; Former coordinator of the public law and urban planning practice area (until May 2017) and was for several years member of the Firm Board of Directors. Former Vice-President of the Juridical Committee of Apelease and a Member of the Juridical Committee of Leaseurope (1996-1999).
