Before Jorge Simões Cortez joined the firm he worked as a legal adviser with the BPI Bank (1990-1999) and as a Consultant at the law firm Osório de Castro, Verde Pinho, Vieira Peres, Lobo Xavier e Associados – Sociedade de Advgados (1999-2005).

Partner (2011) and member of the corporate and commercial team, Morais Leitão, Galvão Teles, Soares da Silva & Associados. Former Assistant Professor at the Portuguese Superior Institute of Accounting and Public Administration (1990-1991) and at the Law Faculty of the Portuguese Catholic University (1991-1992). Throughout the years he has taught classes and seminars at different institutions (I.E.S.F., European University, Oporto Management School, Law Faculty of the Portuguese Catholic University and Independent Accountants Association).

Portuguese Bar Association (admitted in 2011).

Law degree (1990) and Master's Degree in Commercial and Business Law (2004) from the Law Faculty of the Portuguese Catholic University. Ph.D in Commercial and Business Law (Faculty of Law, University of Porto, 2020).
