Pedro de Gouveia e Melo joined the firm in 2002 and became a non-equity partner in 2020. Focuses on EU law and on all fields of competition law in a wide range of industries, including energy, financial services and food & beverages. Practices before the Portuguese Competition Authority and the European Commission, as well as before the ECJ, the EU General Court and the Portuguese courts. Seconded to Latham & Watkins, Washington DC, in 2007. Publishes and speaks regularly on EU/competition law. Is presently the President of the UAE – European Lawyers’ Union.
