Position

Lars is head of Plesner’s Corporate Law team.

Lars possesses top-notch and vast experience in corporate law and foundations law, having worked for more than 15 years at the Danish Business Authority, most recently as a deputy chief executive. Two of his areas of responsibility at the Danish Business Authority were the drafting of the latest Danish Companies Act, which entered into force in 2010, and the latest Danish Act on Operating Foundations from 2014, as well as the Authority’s subsequent administration relating to these two Acts.

Lars holds a master’s degree in law from the University of Copenhagen.

The fact that Lars is the chairman of the Danish Association for Corporate Law further confirms his status as the undisputed leading expert in Denmark on corporate law and foundations law.

Lars’ list of clients is impressive, and he provides continuous foundation law advice to many of the largest Danish foundations. Moreover, Lars has extensive experience in all aspects of company law, including company formation, corporate governance, national and cross-border corporate restructurings, capital changes, dissolution of companies, and state-owned companies, and has played a leading role in numerous prominent transactions, restructurings, and mergers.

Lars has authored several articles and books on corporate law and foundations law, and he has also made numerous presentations on these subjects.

Plesner acts on a broad suite of transactions encompassing all aspects of corporate, commercial and M&A work, emphasising cross-border issues and commercial contracts; the group is also active in acting for private equity houses.
