Career

George Dimitrov is a founder of DPC with more than 25 years of professional experience and one of the trailblazers of information technologies law in Bulgaria. He is the first in the country to receive the academic title “Professor of Law and Information Technologies” and has lectured at all premier universities and educational institutions in Bulgaria.

George has been the driving force behind numerous working groups that have drafted the contemporary Bulgarian information and communication technologies (ICT) legislation, inter alia, the Electronic Commerce Act, the Electronic Governance Act, the Electronic Communications Act. He has played an essential role in the elaboration of key strategies of national importance in the areas of ICT in different sectors of the economy – healthcare, education, governance, finance, tourism, etc. He has trained attorneys, magistrates, in-house lawyers, and state officials in the legal aspects of e-commerce, e-government, e-justice, e-healthcare, e-finance and cybercrimes and has authored a number of books, handbooks, articles and commentaries in the area of ICT law.

George has sound experience in restructuring companies, mergers and acquisitions, projects implementation and management, privacy and data protection. He has advised government institutions and key policy-making NGOs. His practice is currently focused on blue-chip companies and innovative e-products.
