Austria: Schoenherr advises Usersnap on exit to saas.group
Schoenherr advised the shareholders of Austrian software company Usersnap on their acquisition by saas.group, a company active in the business of acquiring promising software as a service (SaaS) companies.
The firm has been advising Usersnap since 2018 and has provided comprehensive legal advice to the sellers in their exit process, including the preparation for the process.
"We are pleased to have been part also of this exciting milestone in a journey going back since 2018," said Schoenherr partner Thomas Kulnigg, who led the team. "Congratulations on this successful exit and all the best to the team."
Josef Trauner (CEO of Usersnap) about his experiences with the firm: “The Schoenherr team around Thomas Kulnigg were always there for us, had fast responses to pressing problems and were partners on an eye-level. Especially in an acquisition process where you are facing legal challenges like warranties and liabilities, you need a legal partner who is protecting your back. We had this feeling throughout the whole process. Big thanks to the amazing team.”
Founded in 2013, Usersnap was part of the first major wave of Austrian start-ups. Over the years, the company has built a user feedback platform for digital product teams, with integrations to over 5,000 third-party software solutions, including Jira, Azure DevOps, Slack, Asana, Trello, Github and Gitlab. Usersnap's notable customers include Lego, Red Hat, Trendyol, BBC, Erste Group and Microsoft. In total, there are about 1,300 customers worldwide.
saas.group was founded in 2017 and has since acquired 16 SaaS brands, including AddSearch, Pipeline, Zenloop, Rewardful and Prerender. With over 250 staff across 30 countries globally, the company provides products across sales & marketing, HR, development tools and eCommerce verticals.
The Schoenherr team advising on the exit was led by Thomas Kulnigg (partner) and further consisted of Clemens Pretscher (attorney at law), Christoph Haid (partner), Stefan Kühteubl (partner), Marco Thorbauer (partner) and Daniel Komarek (associate).
